Stepping into the light

Welcome to your first step on the road to taking positive action and creating powerful, lasting change in your life.

About Me

Hello, I’m Elizabeth and I offer Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy for adults, children and young people. I am a qualified and experienced psychologist and therapist having over 30 years of experience working with individuals, families, groups and organisations.

The help and support I provide is through evidence-based psychological science adapted to your own unique individual needs. I can help with a broad range of areas such as anxiety, stress, social anxiety, low confidence, public speaking, anger, assertiveness, loss, bereavement, relationship issues and weight management. Developing problem solving skills and building confidence are at the core of much of the work designed to bring about positive behaviour change.

Qualifications and Experience

I have a BSc. (Hons) degree in Psychology and Biological Sciences; an MSc in Child Development with Clinical Studies; an MSc in Occupational Psychology, all awarded by the University of London. I am a qualified and registered Educational Psychologist and have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy awarded by the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy (accredited by the British Psychological Society).

I have been working as a psychologist for thirty years. After qualifying, I started working with children and young people, their families, carers and teachers in Child & Family Guidance clinics, and School Psychology Services and other settings for almost twenty years. Later, I worked with my husband in our own company, running training programmes in all aspects of behaviour and emotion management and leadership skills within a range of organisations all over the UK and beyond.

Helping individuals improve their mental health and well-being has always been important to me, and I now focus on working with people facing some sort of psychological challenge in their lives. I love seeing the positive changes that can be made through working collaboratively with a client.

I have undertaken additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; Hypnotherapy; Stress Management; Assertiveness; Solution Focused Brief Therapy; Cognitive Education and Thinking Skills.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society, British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and my work conforms to their Code of Conduct and ethical guidelines. I am a Registered Practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register.

I am fully DBS checked.
